EL PASO, TEXAS (KFOX14/CBS4) — Strong winds swept through El Paso for a second straight day, kicking up dust that made travel and time outdoors difficult for some people across the city.
In downtown El Paso, people said it did not take long to feel the dust.
“I feel the dust. Like, right now in my mouth. And especially right now that I have my lip gloss on. I feel it on my lips,” one person said.

From stepping out of work to running errands, residents said the dust and gusty conditions made even short trips outside uncomfortable.
“It was horrible. It was a lot of sand everywhere. I couldn’t even go outside,” another person said.

Others described the blowing dust as a familiar part of life in the Borderland.
“You know, you get a lot of dust in your eyes. But it’s a it’s a normal thing here in El Paso,” one person said. “We just fight through it and try to get to the places that we need to get to.”
