SWAT helped raid a Southside home where CCPD says detectives seized THC liquid, psilocybin mushrooms, more than $12K in cash and multiple firearms.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Two men were arrested early Thursday morning after Corpus Christi police concluded a monthlong narcotics investigation on the city’s Southside, according to Corpus Christi Police Department Public Information Officer Senior Officer Antonio Contreras.

Detectives with CCPD’s Narcotics and Vice Investigations Division served a search warrant at a residence in the 4800 block of H. Boyd Hall Street, Contreras said.

During the search, investigators seized more than 33 ounces of THC liquid and about seven ounces of psilocybin mushrooms, according to Contreras. He said detectives also recovered more than $12,000 in cash, seven semi-automatic handguns, a 12-gauge magazine-fed shotgun, a 5.56 mm AR-type pistol and a 7.62 mm semi-automatic rifle.

Due to the presence of multiple firearms in the residence, CCPD SWAT officers were called in to enter and secure the home prior to the search, Contreras said.

He said that as a result of the search, detectives arrested Nicolas Medrano and Gabriel Medrano. Both were charged with felony possession of a controlled substance, according to Contreras.

The investigation remains ongoing, and additional charges or arrests are possible, Contreras said.
