UNION COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) – A Texas woman is now facing charges following an investigation into the death of a Union County man, according to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.
TBI said Richard Ritter was reported missing on Aug. 5, 2025. Deputies with the Union County Sheriff’s Office began searching and later found Ritter dead inside a barn on Old Tazewell Pike in Luttrell.
In September, TBI agents joined Union County deputies to investigate. According to TBI, investigators gathered evidence that they say implicated Keairra Jackson in Ritter’s death.
In February 2026, a Union County grand jury indicted Jackson on one count of criminally negligent homicide.
TBI said on Feb. 19, officers with the Irving Police Department in Texas found and arrested Jackson. She is currently being held in the Dallas County Detention Center and is awaiting extradition to Tennessee.
