Crews will close lanes near Yorktown and Rodd Field starting Feb. 24 for road reconstruction work tied to the City’s 2020 Bond Program.
CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Drivers on the southside of Corpus Christi can expect lane closures near the intersection of Yorktown Boulevard and Rodd Field Road as construction continues on a voter-approved roadway project, according to a news release from the City.
Beginning Tuesday, Feb. 24, crews will close the eastbound inside lane of Yorktown Boulevard from Rodd Field Road to Geiger Drive. One eastbound through lane at the Yorktown and Rodd Field intersection will also be closed.
On Rodd Field Road, the southbound inside lane is scheduled to close during the work. The U-turn lane and one left-turn lane will remain open.
The closures are expected to remain in place through Tuesday, March 24, according to the City.
The work is part of the Yorktown Boulevard reconstruction project funded through the 2020 bond program. The project is expected to be completed in 2027.
City officials say access to nearby neighborhoods and businesses will remain available throughout construction. Motorists are urged to follow posted detour signs while traveling through the area.
