EL PASO, TEXAS (KFOX14/CBS4) — A 27-year-old man was arrested in El Paso for a domestic-related homicide investigation in Fort Worth.
According to the Fort Worth Police Department, Elijah Jordan Jacobo was arrested by law enforcement officials in El Paso after an investigation into a homicide at an apartment complex led police to Jacobo as the suspect.
Fort Worth police said the investigation began Wednesday, Feb. 11, when South Division officers were called at about 11:53 a.m. to an apartment complex on the 7300 block of Harris Parkway in Fort Worth for a welfare check on an adult woman.
When officers arrived and searched the general area, they did not locate the adult woman referenced in the call. However, at about 7 p.m., the Missing Persons Unit wrote a search warrant to enter the apartment.
That is when officers were able to enter the apartment and found a deceased adult woman inside, along with evidence of a crime.
Police said the homicide unit then took over the investigation as detectives wrote a second search warrant to look for additional evidence.
According to investigators, the case is believed to be a domestic-related incident.
The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office is expected to positively identify the woman and determine the cause and manner of death.
