EL PASO, TEXAS (KFOX14/CBS4) — Respected community leader and Founder of Fred Loya Insurance Group, Fred Loya, Sr. has passed away on Feb. 21, 2026.
After his success as a Farmers’ Insurance agent in El Paso in the 1970’s, Loya decided to create his own business.
He began Fred Loya Insurance in 1974 with the goal of benefiting underserved communities, but eventually passed his company over to his children in the early 2000’s.
His insurance company grew to be the 18th-largest Hispanic Top 500 owned and operated company in the United States.
