RICHARDSON, Texas (February 24, 2026) — Lubbock Christian University freshman Alexis “Lexi” Clark has been named Lone Star Conference Freshman of the Week, the conference office announced Tuesday. It marks the first weekly conference honor of her career and the first Freshman of the Week recognition for the Lady Chaps this season, as well as the program’s first since Kendra Ward earned the distinction on March 12, 2025.
Clark, a utility player (RHP/OF) from Lubbock, Texas, helped LCU to a 2-2 week in Lone Star Conference play, which included a doubleheader sweep of UT Permian Basin and a pair of games against No. 9 Angelo State. She started all four contests and batted .500 (5-for-10) with three runs scored and four RBI, posting a .500 on-base percentage and .600 slugging percentage. Clark recorded one extra-base hit and drew one walk while striking out just once in 12 plate appearances.
The freshman excelled in clutch situations, going 4-for-4 with runners on base and 3-for-3 with runners in scoring position. She was 4-for-5 in two-out at-bats, producing three two-out RBI, and went 2-for-2 in opportunities to score a runner from third base with fewer than two outs.
Clark also contributed in the circle, making two starts and compiling a 1-0 record with a 0.88 ERA over eight innings. She allowed just one earned run on five hits while striking out five and limiting opponents to a .172 batting average. With runners on base, opposing hitters went just 1-for-17 (.059) against her.
On the season, Clark is batting .286 at the plate and owns a 3-1 record with a 2.07 ERA in seven pitching appearances. She is the second recipient this season to claim a conference weekly honor in softball, as Natalle Gray was named the LSC Pitcher of the Week last week.
LCU is 8-8 overall on the season and is 4-2 in LSC play, as they return to the diamond Friday at 2 p.m. at No.13 Oklahoma Christian for an LSC doubleheader.
