Tommy: Trade on draft day for me, because of the exact reason that you outlined. There’s a better chance that teams may be willing to give up more draft capital if they feel the Cowboys, or a team between Dallas and the team calling inquiring about trading up, takes the player they really want. I think there are several scenarios that could unfold on the first night where the Cowboys might even want to move back if some of their big targets are off the table, which makes it all the more enticing of an option if someone is calling Dallas’ draft room. Plus, you have your free agency picture in place as well, so it can dictate some more of what you want to do. Regardless of what they do in free agency, I don’t think this team would have any issue making a trade that helps them get more players, or move a pick for an existing player IF what the offer is right.
