Patricia Lee Shaver Mince, age 88, of Arlington, Texas, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 21, 2026. A funeral service will be held at The Church of the Holy Apostles, 3900 Longvue Avenue, Fort Worth, Texas 76116, at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2026. Patty was born on August 6, 1937, in Fairmont, West Virginia, to Robert Paul and Billie Jean Shaver. Her family later moved to Baltimore and eventually settled in Dallas, where Patty graduated as Salutatorian from St. Edward’s Catholic School and received a scholarship to the University of Dallas. She left college to marry Aloren Carter Mince on June 15, 1957. She devoted herself to raising their three sons in Arlington and became a familiar and respected presence in the community through her volunteer work and service on numerous committees. Patty was an avid reader with a particular love of history and was always ready for a thoughtful discussion. She enjoyed traveling—especially with her sister, Polly—and treasured her many years with the ladies of her bridge group at Rolling Hills Country Club. Above all, she cherished time spent making memories with her sons, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Patty was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Al Mince, and her son, Greg Mince.
