EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — Poppies Fest is returning in 2026 with a new format that organizers say will concentrate more activities into a single festival weekend while also spreading additional events throughout the month, with land preservation as a central focus.

GECU Presents Poppies Fest is described as an annual celebration of the region’s natural beauty and creativity and a celebration of Castner Range National Monument at the only part of the landscape open to the public.

The El Paso Museum of Archaeology is hosting the event to highlight local artisans, vendors and performers, while also providing a platform for Native American voices and traditions.

Organizers say the festival aims to foster connection, education and shared stewardship through nature, culture and creativity.

The festival weekend is scheduled for:

Friday, 3/13, from 5 to 9 p.m.-Saturday, 3/14, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.-Sunday, 3/15, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Events will take place at the El Paso Museum of Archaeology, 4301 Transmountain Road.

Shuttle service and parking will be available at Camp Cohen, 9700 Gateway N.

Planned activities include an artisan vendor marketplace, live performances, free hands-on activities, local organizations and partners, and food trucks.
