Tea Time!: Heritage of the African Soil

Explore rich flavors and history at Tea Time! Heritage of the African Soil: Kenyan Purple Tea & Malawi Black Tea on Wednesday, Feb. 25 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the East Library & Recreation Center. This free program for adults 18 and up invites guests to discover the cultural roots of African teas while enjoying a complimentary cup—no registration required, but supplies are limited.

Creature Features – Monty the Hedgehog

Meet Monty at Creature Features – Monty, the Lesser Hedgehog Tenrec on Saturday, Feb. 28 at 2 p.m. at the River Legacy Nature Center. This engaging program offers a close-up look at Monty’s unique adaptations, behavior, and natural history. Space is limited and RSVP is required, with attendance confirmed by email or phone prior to the event.

Black History Month Artist Reception

Celebrate creativity and culture at the Black History Month Artist Reception on Saturday, Feb. 28 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the George W. Hawkes Downtown Library. This elegant evening will showcase a curated gallery of local Black artists, accompanied by live music and light bites. Cocktail attire is requested for this adults-only (18+) event, and registration is required.

River Legacy Park Fun-Ride

Enjoy a laid-back Sunday at the River Legacy Park Fun-Ride on Sunday, March 1 at 12 p.m., starting at the River Legacy East Trailhead. This family-friendly bike ride features scenic paved trails and a relaxed pace, welcoming riders of all skill levels for an afternoon of fresh air and fun.
