Dallas police arrested a 41-year-old man Tuesday after officers were called out to a burglary in progress at a business in the 3800 block of W. Illinois Avenue.

Police say the suspect, identified as Gabriel Ybarra, had climbed onto the roof and broken into the building, making off with about $12,000 worth of property. According to DPD, when officers arrived on scene, they spotted Ybarra still on the roof.

As officers moved in, Ybarra fell through the roof and into the business, police said.

Ybarra was then taken into custody and transported to Dallas County Jail, police said. He is charged with burglary of a building—forced entry, a state jail felony.

DPD also connected Ybarra to a separate burglary at the same business on Jan. 31. That case resulted in an additional burglary charge, police said.
