Prosecutors allege the officers, Sergeant Alfredo Flores and Officer Eleazar Alejandro, charged with murder, and Officer Nathaniel Villalobos, charged with assault, used excessive force during a mental health call at Perez’s apartment.

On Wednesday, the jury heard from forensic pathologist David Lynch, who detailed the bullet paths, including one entering near Perez’s armpit, suggesting her arm was raised. Defense attorneys argued the officers fired after Perez allegedly grabbed a hammer, while prosecutors maintained the shooting was unnecessary.
