Texas Department of Public Safety – Loop 1604 Expansion Project
SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — As part of the Loop 1604 North Expansion Project, the Texas Department of Transportation is announcing closures for bridge construction.
What you need to know:
Eastbound (EB) Loop 1604 exit ramp to Valero Way
EB Loop 1604 frontage road at the interchange
Westbound (WB) Loop 1604 frontage road alternating closures between the interchange and La Cantera Parkway
WB I-10 frontage road at interchange
These weekend closures are expected to occur beginning Friday, February 27, 2026, at 9 p.m. through Monday, March 2, 2026, at 5 a.m., weather permitting.
Police will direct traffic through intersections during this time, as needed. Please follow detour signage.

EB Loop 1604 Exit to Valero Way
Drivers on EB Loop 1604 looking to exit toward Valero Way will use the Chase Hill Boulevard exit ramp to enter the EB Loop 1604 frontage road and follow it toward Valero Way.
EB Loop 1604 Frontage Road
Drivers on the EB Loop 1604 frontage road looking to continue through the I-10 interchange will keep right, entering the I-10 EB frontage road. Drivers will use the U-turn at UTSA Boulevard, entering the WB I-10 frontage road. Drivers will keep right to re-enter the EB Loop 1604 frontage road.
EB Loop 1604 Frontage Road to WB I-10
Drivers on the EB Loop 1604 frontage road looking to access WB I-10 will keep right, entering the I-10 EB frontage road. Drivers will enter the WB I-10 mainlanes and keeping right, will exit to De Zavala Road. They will use the U-turn at De Zavala Road, entering the WB I-10 frontage road. Drivers will enter the WB I-10 mainlanes via the first available entrance ramp.
WB I-10 Frontage Road and to WB Loop 1604
Drivers on the WB I-10 frontage road looking to continue through the Loop 1604 interchange will keep right, entering the EB Loop 1604 frontage road. Drivers will enter the EB Loop 1604 mainlanes via the first available entrance ramp and then return to the EB Loop 1604 frontage road via the NW Military Highway exit ramp. They will use the U-turn at NW Military Highway, entering the WB Loop 1604 frontage road. Drivers will enter the WB Loop 1604 mainlanes via the first available entrance ramp and follow signs to WB I-10 via the new flyover ramp. Drivers may re-enter the WB I-10 frontage road via the Camp Bullis Road exit ramp.
