“Stay strong, August, stay strong, August,” A group of College Station HS football players said in a message sent from 700 miles away.

“Hey August, I’m Kash, I’m #13, I play for the cougars. I just want you to stay strong and know that we are here with you and that we support you,” Kash Adams said.

Kash and his College Station High School teammates are sending well wishes to Borden, who suffered severe injuries in August during an incident at Deshler High School.

Head Football Coach Stoney Pryor said they recently heard Borden’s story.

“One of our younger player’s relatives has a connection and reached out, and we were interested in showing some support, some love for August, in what he’s going through at the moment,” Pryor said.

So the team made a video, sharing their love and support for Borden.

“I’m Alex Harrison. August, God has got you, just keep praying and you’ll get through it” Harrison said.

“August, I think tough times make tough people, and you’re going to be a tough person,” said another player.

News 19 caught up with some players from College Station HS, who told us why they took part in the video.

“We are brothers through Christ, brothers through football; it was super easy to show our love and support to him, we felt like we already knew him and connected to him just hearing his story,” Senior Clayton Brod said.

“It’s definitely a horrible situation, prayers, we’ve all been praying a lot for him, I just hope he keeps fighting and gets it done,” Senior Cole Flanagan said.

Coach Pryor had one last message for Borden.

“You’re not going through this alone. God is certainly with you, and across the miles we’re with you and in other athletes, as well in our kindred of football, but just going through things together,” he said. “Stay strong, we love you here in College Station.”
