A man was flown to a Fort Worth hospital with serious burns Thursday afternoon in the Bridgeport area.

The incident was reported just after noon when a man came to the Boonsville Fire Department after suffering burn injuries. Medics determined the severity of the burns required the patient to be flown to a hospital.

PHI Med-10 was dispatched to the helipad of the old hospital in Bridgeport to meet the patient, who was then flown to Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth.

Wise County EMS Chief Randall Preuninger said the adult male was working on a car when hot fluids burned him. Call sheet information indicates the 35-year-old man sustained burns on his arms and chest.

Boonsville Fire Department, Rescue-1, Medic-2 and Squad-1 responded to the call.
