Primary Day in Texas is inching closer.
The governor’s race, all seats in the U.S. House of Representatives, and local state legislature seats are up for grabs.
Primary Day on Tuesday, March 3, paves the way for the candidates to earn a place on the general election ballot in November.
Voters told ABC13 why they have and will continue to practice their civic duty.
“Why I am voting is that all of us here in the United States have the responsibility to make our voices heard,” Steve Dorcheus said.
Early voting has ended, but the numbers could give people a look into what to expect on Tuesday.
According to the Harris County Clerk’s Office, from Feb. 17 to Feb. 27, there was a total of 346,797 early voters.
220,284 Democrats cast their ballots and 126,513 Republican voters cast their ballot.
There are multiple issues that are important to voters, according to what they told ABC13.
“Number one getting paid, number two schools, number three protecting our community, and number four, which is the last one, is healthcare,” Ingrid Fernandez said.
Polls open at 7 a.m. on Tuesday, March 3.
