There’s a new waterfront hangout on Padre Island. Sandbox Beach Bar is now serving up fun.
CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — There’s a new waterfront hangout on Padre Island.
Sandbox Beach Bar is now open along the seawall off Windward Drive, welcoming locals and visitors for a weekend filled with sunshine, music and island vibes.
Crowds turned out to enjoy beachside favorites, a limited Mardi Gras–inspired drink menu and sweeping coastal views. Guests also found plenty to do beyond the bar including live music, a playground for kids and even pickleball courts.
The bar opened just in time for the Barefoot Mardi Gras Parade and before the Spring Break rush.
“Of course we got big crowd, plenty of drinks, we have really good food trucks,” said head manager Joseph Bazan. “I really, really hope y’all come out here and enjoy everything.”
With picture-perfect weather and activities for all ages, Sandbox Beach Bar is positioning itself as a new go-to spot to sip, eat and play on Padre Island. Organizers say they’re excited to offer a space where families, friends and beachgoers can gather year-round along the waterfront.
