FORT BLISS, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — Security has been tightened at Fort Bliss, and officials are warning that getting onto the installation could take longer than usual after the recent events in Iran.
Fort Bliss provided the following statement:
Based on the current world situation and local environment, the Force Protection Condition (FPCON) level at Fort Bliss has increased. Employees and visitors to the installation should plan for increased security measures on the installation and/or longer wait times to access the installation.
There were reports of really long lines on Monday morning at the entrance of Fort Bliss.
The United States and Israel conducted a joint attack against Iran on Saturday, in which Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and many other top Iranian officials were killed.
