Multiple rounds of storms and showers will impact North Texas from midweek into the weekend.
There will be threats for strong to severe storms each day, along with increasing chances for flooding heading into the weekend, according to the National Weather Service Fort Worth.
The stormy activity will not impact voting on Election Day (Tuesday, March 3) since the weather will not arrive in North Texas until Wednesday, March 4. Election Day weather will be sunny and warm with highs in the low 80s.

Severe storms are in the forecast for North Texas on Wednesday, March 4. National Weather Service Fort Worth Wednesday, March 4
A cold front will arrive Wednesday morning and stall near the Interstate 20 corridor by the afternoon.
Isolated showers and thunderstorms could develop Wednesday morning ahead of the front, according to the NWS. Heading into Wednesday afternoon, scattered showers and storms are expected to develop along and ahead of the front.
Any of the storms later Wednesday will have threats for large hail and damaging winds. Thunderstorms are expected to continue overnight into Thursday, March 5.

Thursday, March 5
A break in storms is expected for North Texas on Thursday, but scattered rain chances will remain.
There’s a chance for isolated strong to severe storms in areas mainly north of U.S. Route 377 and west of Interstate 35, on Thursday afternoon, according to the NWS.
Slight chances of showers will stick around overnight Thursday into Friday, March 6.

The next significant round of this storm system arrives Friday.
Scattered storms are expected Friday morning and more widespread activity will develop through the afternoon and evening, per the NWS. Strong to severe storms are possible during the mid and later parts of Friday.
Storms will continue overnight Friday into Saturday, March 7. Again, widespread activity is expected through Saturday with potential for severe weather. The flooding threat will increase over the weekend as storms pour over the Metroplex.
As the event nears, the NWS said it will have a better understanding of what storms will bring this weekend.
