A cyclist was injured in a collision with a truck in Port Aransas today (Monday, March 2).
The accident occurred about 2 p.m. on State Highway 361, just north of the Grand Caribbean condominiums.
The man riding the bicycle was taken to a Corpus Christi hospital by ambulance. His condition was unknown.
Today’s collision was the second auto-vs-bicycle accident that has occurred along the highway in the past few weeks.
Larry Kimacovich, 68, of Canada, was killed in a traffic accident on State Highway 361 and Howard Boulevard on Feb. 14.
A preliminary police investigation showed that Kimacovich was riding on a sidewalk next to the highway, and his bicycle was hit by a truck proceeding from Howard Boulevard onto the highway. The collision sent the cyclist onto the highway, where he was hit by an SUV.
