The National Weather Service Fort Worth/Dallas issued a warning about potential severe storms on Wednesday afternoon and evening in North Texas.
The NWS Fort Worth/Dallas issued the warning on Monday afternoon. It says that shows and storms will develop along and ahead of a stalled front Wednesday afternoon or evening and move northeast.
A few storms could become severe with large hail and damaging winds the main threats. The main window is late afternoon through evening.
It is still uncertain exactly where the front will stall, which would impact the severe threat area. The NWS also doesn’t know yet exactly when the storms will hit.
In anticipation of these weather events, keep updated on the forecast today and make sure you have multiple ways to receive warning information. Those include phone apps, TV, and weather radio.
Continued rounds of shows and storms are expected throughout the weekend. Some severe storms are possible as well as a threat for heavy rain.
The forecast details will change, but currently Thursday shows a change of storms all day with severe weather possible late in the afternoon and evening.
On Friday, the service expects scattered heavy rain in the afternoon and evening with primarily a hail threat. The highest rain chances will be in North Texas.
On Saturday, the service expects another round of scattered strong to severe storms and increased heavy rain threat from repeated rounds of storms. It should be noted that the Friday and Saturday forecasts are currently low confidence.
