STEPHENVILLE, Texas – The UT Arlington Mavericks (15-13, 7-9 WAC) take to the road to battle their instate foe Tarleton State Texans (14-16, 5-12 WAC) Thursday at 7 p.m. (CT). With victories Thursday at Tarleton and Saturday at Abilene Christian, the Mavs would finish the conference slate at .500.

The Mavericks are looking to snap a five-game road losing streak. The Mavs’ last road win came on Jan. 15 at Utah Tech. UTA will look to get back on track offensively, as the team has averaged just 61.7 points per game over its last six. Prior to that, the Mavs had scored 76.3 points per contest over an eight-game stretch.

This is the third meeting of the season between the Mavs and Texans and the first in Stephenville. Tarleton State won the first clash in Arlington, 69-63, while UTA took the second, 71-64. Remarkably, each of the last 10 games in the series has been decided by 10 points or less and by an average of just 5.0 points per game.

With two games remaining in the regular season, UTA holds the No. 4 seed in the Western Athletic Conference Championship that begins on Wednesday, March 11.

Thursday’s game will be broadcast live on ESPN+ and will air live on the radio on the Varsity Network App with the Voice of the Mavs, Josh Sours, on the call.
