ARLINGTON, Texas – UT Arlington star pitcher, Caylon Dygert earned national recognition this week following his dominant outing in the Mavericks’ 4–3 victory at No. 6 Arkansas on Feb. 27 at Baum-Walker Stadium.

Dygert was named to Baseball America’s Week 3 National Team of the Week and was also recognized by D1Baseball in its Weekend 3 Top Performers list.

The Mavericks’ leader delivered 8.2 innings against the nationally ranked Razorbacks, allowing just two hits and two runs — neither earned — while striking out 11. He issued two walks and threw 130 pitches in the outing, a performance that drew national attention across the college baseball landscape.

Dygert held Arkansas scoreless through the first eight innings and limited one of the nation’s premier offenses to minimal traffic throughout the night. He generated 10 groundouts and exited with two outs in the ninth after turning in one of the top pitching performances in the country during Weekend 3.

Baseball America’s National Team of the Week highlights the top performers at each position nationally, while D1Baseball’s Weekend Top Performers list — compiled in partnership with 6-4-3 Charts — ranks the nation’s top 100 pitching performances from Friday through Sunday using Bill James’ game score formula.

The recognition adds to an already decorated résumé for Dygert. In 2024, he was named a Second Team Freshman All-American by D1Baseball.com and earned conference Player of the Week honors, establishing himself early as one of the nation’s premier arms.

Dygert’s latest performance secured his first win of the 2026 season and powered UT Arlington to its lone victory of the series at Arkansas.
