Early voting results from Tarrant County show that Armin Mizani is leading in the Republican primary race for Texas House District 98.
What you need to know
Mizani is ahead with 9,746 votes, or 54.76%. The two other candidates in the race, Fred Tate and Zdenka “Zee” Wilcox, garnered 7,477 and 576 votes, respectively, or 42.01% and 3.24%.
Tate is a managing director and has experience in a governor-appointed board service, per previous reporting. Mizani is the current mayor of Keller and a former city council member. Wilcox is a small business owner and former public school teacher.
The Democratic primary race is between Cate Brennan and Aaron Hendley.
What’s next?
The winner of the Republican primary will face the winner of the Democratic primary in November. The winner of that election will be sworn in for a two-year term starting in January 2027.
