EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — The primary race for El Paso County Commissioner Precinct 2 will be held on March 3, where the incumbent is David Stout.

Below are the unofficial election results:

Republican:

Matt Sistrunk (unopposed)

Democrat:

David Stout (incumbent): 48%

Miguel “Mike” Teran: 51%

Both democratic candidates spoke with KFOX14/CBS4 Tuesday night at their respective watch parties as early results came in.

Stout thanked voters for the opportunity to serve Precinct 2 over the past decade.

“I’m just immensely thankful for the opportunity that I have had over the last 11 years to represent the people of Precinct 2. It has been the best job I’ve ever had,” Stout said at his watch party.

Teran told KFOX14/CBS4 he believes voters responded to the message of his campaign.

“The message was very clear and they heard it. They liked what I was saying and I appreciate them believing in me and in my message and I want to make it right. If I’m lucky enough to win the final results, I look forward to being your next County Commissioner of Precinct 2,” Teran said at his watch party.
