After a strong week that included a 82-73 win at then-No. 4 Iowa State, preceded by an 80-68 win over Cincinnati- all without standout forward JT Toppin, the Texas Tech Red Raiders (22-7, 12-4 Big 12) are now No. 10 in the new Associated Press poll release Monday. This new ranking is six spots higher from the previous week.
Saturday’s win at Ames, Ia. also vaulted the Red Raiders to second place in the conference, where they are tied with Houston. Arizona sits in first.
Other Big 12 schools include:
2. Arizona (27-2, 14-2), No. 6 Iowa State (24-5, 11-5) and 7. Houston (24-5, 12-4). It is worth noting Tech has been 3-1 against these three programs this season. 14. Kansas (21-8, 11-5) is also in the Top 25.
BYU (20-9, 8-8), TCU (19-10, 9-7) and UCF (20-8, 9-7) are also receiving votes.

Duke (27-2), who lost to Tech 82-81 Dec. 20 in New York City, 3. Michigan (27-2), 4. UCONN (27-3), and 5. Florida (23-6).
The Red Raiders will host TCU (19-10, 9-7) Tuesday night, tip-off set for 6 p.m. On Saturday, they will close out regular season play at BYU (20-9, 8-8).
