Crime Stoppers of Houston is offering a reward for information about anyone responsible for the fatal hit-and-run of Fort Bend Deputy Kenneth Lewis.

HOUSTON — Crime Stoppers of Houston is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information that helps investigators identify the suspect responsible for a fatal hit-and-run that claimed the life of Fort Bend County deputy Kenneth Lewis.

Investigators with the Houston Police Department Vehicular Crimes Division say Deputy Lewis was killed after stopping to help others on the roadway.

The incident happened around 3 a.m. on Saturday, February 21, 2026, on westbound Katy Freeway near Eldridge in Houston.

Deputy Lewis was assisting drivers in a minor accident when an unknown dark-colored vehicle struck him and continued driving without stopping. Deputy Lewis was transported to a nearby hospital, where he later died from his severe injuries.

Now, his family is asking the community to help bring justice and accountability to the person responsible.

Anyone with information about the driver or vehicle involved is urged to contact Crime Stoppers of Houston. Tips can be submitted anonymously, and information leading to an arrest may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $5,000.
