Visibility could be as low as one mile, the National Weather Service warned.

The windy conditions will continue through the weekend, though not as strong, according to a timelapse map released by the weather service. A red flag warning is in effect parts of Southern New Mexico, including Ruidoso and Cloudcroft, as winds could increase the risk of wildfires.

Temperatures are expected to also cool on Saturday, the National Weather Service said.
