ARLINGTON, Texas – The UT Arlington Mavericks remain at Clay Gould Ballpark this weekend as they welcome ULM for a three-game non-conference series beginning Friday night. First pitch for the series opener is scheduled for 6 p.m.
UTA enters the weekend at 3–9 following a challenging early-season slate that included a series at No. 6 Arkansas. The Mavericks will look to build momentum at home against a ULM squad that enters the series with an 8–7 record.

GAME NOTES


UT Arlington’s pitching staff has been anchored by Caylon Dygert, who holds a 0.96 ERA across three starts this season with 18 strikeouts in 18.2 innings while limiting opposing hitters to a .169 batting average.
Dygert earned national recognition this week after his outing at Arkansas, where he worked 8.2 innings with 11 strikeouts to lead UTA to its lone win of the series.
Kyle Winkler has also provided strong relief work early in the season, allowing just one hit across 3.1 scoreless innings.
Offensively, Zach Mazoch leads the Mavericks with a .340 batting average through 12 games and has driven in seven runs.
Preston Knott has been productive at the top of the lineup, batting .306 while leading the team with nine runs scored and adding four doubles and a triple.
Xavier Melendez has also been a steady contributor at the plate, hitting .294 with 15 hits across 12 games.
UTA will look to reverse last season’s result against the Warhawks after dropping the 2025 series, two games to one.
