FRISCO, Texas (March 3, 2026) – For the seventh consecutive season—and in every season since joining the Lone Star Conference—Lubbock Christian University has earned a spot in the LSC Championships. The No. 4-seeded Lady Chaps will open tournament play Friday with a quarterfinals contest against Eastern New Mexico. Tipoff is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. inside Comerica Center.
Â
It is back to the “late game” for LCU, as prior to last season, LCU had three consecutive  quarterfinal appearances in the late game. The previous two “late game” contests have stretched even later, with both quarterfinal matchups going to overtime. Their previous late one (Mar. 9, 2023) was a triple-overtime thriller, the longest game in tournament history, where LCU fell 90-80 to Texas A&M International. This season, the Lady Chaps enter the eight-team field as the No. 4 seed—their second time holding that spot in the tournament. Additionally, LCU 1-0 all-time in LSC Championship play against No.5 seeds (74-72 OT win against Texas A&M-Kingsville on Mar. 2, 2023).
Â
Lubbock Christian is appearing in their seventh LSC conference tournament (LSC Championship). The Lady Chaps hold a 11-4 all-time record in LSC Championship tournament games (6-4 in Frisco). LCU won the tournament in 2020 and 2021(both over Texas A&M-Commerce). LCU’s all-time leading scorer in LSC Championship play is Grace Foster, who had 151 career points in nine career games (average of 16.8 points per game, which also leads LCU’s career LSC Championship marks). Kennedy Chappell and Martie McCoy co-lead the active roster historically in the LSC Championships 19 points (Chappell 4.8 points per game average in four games / McCoy 3.8 points per game in five games). The Lady Chaps average 69.2 points historically in championships play, with a field goal shooting mark of 43.9%. They are 36.4% from the perimeter and 79.6% from the line historically. LCU averages an allowance of 61.4 points per game historically and their defense has a pace of holding opponents to 38.3% shooting from the field.
Â
Eastern New Mexico University is one of the Lone Star Conference’s hottest teams, completing league play 15-5 (19-9 overall) and riding a seven-game winning streak. The Greyhounds finished tied for fourth (with LCU) in the standings and boast key wins over West Texas A&M, UT Permian Basin, and Angelo State during their late surge. ENMU averages 70.3 points per game with a +10.3 scoring margin while holding opponents to 60.0 points per contest. Defense and depth are major strengths, ranking first in the LSC in bench scoring (32.9 ppg) and top five in turnover margin (+3.29) and steals (10.8 per game).
Chloe Dallas leads the team at 14.4 points per game and ranks among the conference leaders in blocks and free throw attempts, while Julieta Ceja anchors the glass with 6.2 rebounds per game.
In their lone regular season meeting this season (Jan. 17 at LCU’s Rip Griffin Center), used a dominant third quarter to defeat ENMU 77-63 in Lone Star Conference play. After trailing early, LCU outscored ENMU 24-12 in the third to take control. Meg Meekins scored a game-high 24 points, while Kennedy Chappell added 21 points and 14 rebounds. The Lady Chaps shot 50% from the field and went 24-of-31 at the free-throw line to secure their 10th straight win over ENMU.
Â
The victory provided LCU a 25-24 all-time series, as LCU has won 21 of the last 24 meetings and leads the series for the first time ever. ENMU’s win on Jan. 16, 2020 (69-68 in overtime in Portales, N.M.) ended a six-game win streak in the series for LCU, but LCU has responded with 10 consecutive wins in the series. The Lady Chaps are 15-3 all-time against ENMU under head coach Steve Gomez. Friday’s meeting marks the 50th all-time meeting between the two programs and the first ever on a neutral site floor and the first ever in a postseason.
Â
If LCU wins, they will advance to Saturday’s 6p.m. semifinal contest where either No.1-seed Texas Woman’s or No.8-seed UT Permian Basin will await. If the Lady Chaps fall they will have to hope for an at-large berth for a NCAA South Central Regional in Sunday’s selection show (9:30 p.m on NCAA.com).
