  • March 5, 2026

LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – The Viva Aztlán Festival returns to Lubbock this month, celebrating its 30th anniversary as the longest-running folklórico competition in Texas.

Hosted by Lubbock Centro Aztlan, the festival will take place at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center Theatre, 1501 Mac Davis Lane, on Friday, March 13, and Saturday, March 14. The event is open to the public.

Friday’s programming begins at 7 p.m. with a performance by Grupo Folklórico Jaguar. Saturday’s schedule runs from 8 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. and includes daytime performances by folklórico groups from across Texas and New Mexico, followed by an evening performance by Mariachi Los Camperos de Jesús “Chuy” Guzmán.

Visit Lubbock is promoting the festival as a family-friendly event that showcases folklórico dance and music traditions. The festival draws performers and audiences from across the region.

Lubbock Centro Aztlan organizes the annual event, which highlights Lubbock as a destination for cultural experiences.
