AUSTIN, TX (March 5, 2026) – Sunday morning, a tragic pedestrian crash on 3100 State Highway 71 killed one person.

The incident happened at around 2:15 a.m. on the 3100 block of State Highway 71.

According to the Austin Police, a vehicle struck a pedestrian, then fled the scene without stopping to provide aid. Then, a second vehicle struck the pedestrian.

Moreover, officers confirmed that the pedestrian died at the scene.

Furthermore, officers confirmed that the driver of the second vehicle remained and was not suspected of impairment.
