AUSTIN, Texas (Valley News Live) – A North Dakota State University graduate was one of three people killed in a shooting in Austin, Texas, early Sunday morning that also injured more than a dozen others.
Jorge Pederson, 30, a Minnesota native and mixed martial arts fighter, had moved to Texas two weeks before his death.

In a statement to WCCO News, Pederson’s family described him as “a very healthy, loving, funny young man” who was “passionate about Muay Thai and MMA and was going to go pro in May.”
An online fundraiser has been setup to support Pederson’s family.
