The Harris County Precinct 1 Constable’s Office shared video of a man they say has been breaking into homes through windows.

HOUSTON — Authorities are asking for help identifying a man they say is tied to a string of burglaries in the Montrose area.

The Harris County Precinct 1 Constable’s Office says the suspect climbs through windows to get inside homes, where he searches for jewelry and then tries to sell the items for cash at pawn shops.

Investigators say the man often looks for unlocked windows during the day. In some cases, he forces windows open or smashes the glass to get inside.

Aside from the monetary value of the items stolen, in one case, investigators say the suspect stole a gold high school ring from 1941.

Authorities are asking anyone who recognizes the suspect to contact the investigating detective at joseph.bowden@cn1.hctx.net.

The constable’s office also provided several safety reminders for residents. Officials recommend keeping doors and windows locked, trimming bushes near windows and doors so burglars can’t hide, and making sure security cameras are working and pointed in the right direction.

Anyone with an emergency should call 911, officials said.
