Andy Slater of Fox Sports reported that Ogunbowale had been arrested at Club E11EVEN in Miami while celebrating her team’s Unrivaled basketball championship.

DALLAS — Dallas Wings guard Arike Ogunbowale was arrested at Club E11EVEN in Miami just hours after winning the Unrivaled basketball championship, according to an arrest affidavit obtained by WFAA.

The affidavit said Ogunbowale allegedly punched a man in the face with a closed fist, making him fall to the ground. Police said the victim told officers he was attempting to escort Ogunbowale out due to an unrelated altercation when she hit him. Police added in the affidavit that CCTV footage from Club E11EVEN corroborated the man’s statement to officers.

Police initially responded to the club after security personnel flagged down officers for reports of a physical altercation that had occurred inside, the affidavit said. Officers observed a large crowd being escorted out at the back of the club, according to the affidavit. The man, when talking to officers, identified Ogunbowale as the person who hit him and she was arrested without incident, according to the affidavit.

WFAA reached out to the Dallas Wings and the City of Miami Police Department for comment. Miami PD supplied WFAA with the arrest warrant, and the Wings sent the following statement:

“The Wings are aware of an incident involving Arike Ogunbowale and are in the process of gathering more information. Further comments will be provided once we have more details.”

Ogunbowale’s Unrivaled team, Mist, beat Phantom 80-74 on Wednesday night. Ogunbowale was seen on social media celebrating with Unrivaled championship win with her Dallas Wings rookie teammates, Paige Bueckers and Aziaha James.

Court records showed Ogunbowale was arrested for battery on March 5 and posted $1,000 bond.
