Several Plano roads are set to undergo more construction this summer as the city moves ahead with its next phase of asphalt overlays.

At their Feb. 23 meeting, Plano City Council members approved a $5.38 million contract to construct a thin asphalt overlay on four roadway sections, including:

Legacy Drive between Coit Road and Custer RoadPark Boulevard between the West City Limit and Preston RoadParker Road between Independence Parkway and US 75Independence Parkway between Parker Road and Spring Creek Parkway

Construction is slated to begin this summer and wrap in the fall, according to the city’s website.

The contract also includes the repair of 1,200 square yards of arterial concrete and additional repairs at railroad crossings as needed, city documents state.

One more thing

Construction work last summer added 47 miles of overlays in Plano, accounting for about a third of the city’s planned overlay projects, according to a news release from the city.
