The Dallas Cowboys passed on the Las Vegas Raiders trade demands.

The Dallas Cowboys have maintained that the team plans to be aggressive this offseason, prompting plenty of NFL rumors. Dallas was heavily linked to a blockbuster trade with the Las Vegas Raiders for Maxx Crosby before the Baltimore Ravens acquired the superstar.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that the Cowboys were willing to trade one first rounder and a second-round selection but balked at including two first-round picks.

“The Cowboys were willing to offer a first- and second-round pick to the Raiders for Maxx Crosby but, logically and understandably, Las Vegas opted for the two first-round picks from the Ravens,” Schefter detailed in a March 6, 2026, message on X.

Prior to the Ravens-Raiders trade, 105.3 The Fan reported that the Cowboys were offering the No. 12 pick, a future second rounder and pass rusher Osa Odighizuwa in exchange for Crosby. The outlet has since deleted the tweet.

Cowboys Rumors: Dallas Refused to Include 2 1st-Round Picks in NFL Trade for Maxx Crosby

In the end, the Raiders were able to land two first-round picks from the Ravens for Crosby. Baltimore parted ways with their No. 14 pick in the 2026 NFL draft as well as a 2027 first rounder to land Crosby.

The Cowboys would have taken on significant financial commitment with Crosby’s three-year, $106 million contract. Crosby’s deal is slated to go through the 2029 season.

Cowboys to Pass on Bengals Star Trey Hendrickson?

As the Cowboys pivot to other options, who could be Dallas’ next target? The Cowboys have also been linked to Cincinnati Bengals free agent Trey Hendrickson, but not everyone is convinced that this is where Dallas will turn to address the team’s defensive woes.

“The Cowboys will pivot toward other pass rushers in free agency,” NFL Network’s James Palmer explained in a March 6, message on X. “There are some I think they like.

“I’m not entirely sure Trey Hendrickson is one of those. Won’t rule anything out, but I get a sense their eyes are elsewhere.”

Cowboys Owner Jerry Jones on NFL Free Agency: ‘I Could See Us Being Aggressive in Free Agency’

The Cowboys and other teams can begin talking to NFL free agents on Monday, March 9, but no new deals can be officially signed until Wednesday, March 11. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones hinted that the team could be “aggressive” in NFL free agency.

“I could see us being aggressive in free agency,” Jones noted on February 27, per DallasCowboys.com’s Tommy Yarrish. “By the very virtue of having two number ones, we’re gonna spend more money in the draft than normally you would spend… I would bet that we will spend more money in free agency than we have.

“… The only way to push more is for me to go borrow some of my future. Expect me to go borrow some of my future… I want to do everything we possibly can to stop somebody and to basically win some third downs more than we did last year. So I think that would be the area that you would see me bust the budget.”
