It looks like one gym in the San Antonio area is going to close for good at the end of the month, with a sign of confirmation posted on the door.

A flyer has been posted on the front door of a LA Fitness at 7140 Blanco Rd, San Antonio, TX 78216, alerting folks of the gyms closure for good. “This club will be permanently closing Monday, March 30 at 6 p.m.,” the sign says at the gym. “At that time, your access will expand to include all of our LA Fitness locations nationwide, including signature clubs!”

The sign noted however, that stipulation only works if a membership lists that location as the home club. It also clarified that the nearest other LA Fitness locations are located at LA Fitness, 5601 Bandera Rd, Leon Valley, TX 78238, and 1339 N Loop 1604 W, San Antonio, TX 78258. This is the latest gym chain to shut down a location in San Antonio, after two Gold’s Gym locations closed in August 2025.

A number of LA Fitness locations have closed recently across Texas, especially in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, with its most recent shutterings in northwest Dallas, North Richland Hills and east Plano, according to the lake Highlands Advocate.

There was no reason given as to why the gym is closing in San Antonio. MySA has reached out to LA Fitness for further comment, but has not heard back at time of publication.
