Tens of thousands of people are without power in Texas as storms moved through over the past 24 hours, storms that are just now making their way through southeast areas down toward Galveston.

As of Saturday evening, nearly 4,000 customers had no power in Houston’s Harris County and Fort Bend County areas, most of it weather-related.

CenterPoint said it has crews restoring power even though it’s still raining in the metropolitan area.

And in Ellis County just south of Dallas about 1500 Oncor Energy customers are without electricity after storms moved through.

Oncor, too, says it’s working to restore power in hard-hit areas.
