It was a back-and-forth battle that ended up becoming one of the most-entertaining SEC basketball matchups of the year, as the Texas A&M Aggies overcame early adversity to secure a 94-91 victory over the LSU Tigers in triple overtime.

Graduate forward Rashaun Agee’s 26 points and Rylan Griffen’s 24-point performance helped lead the Maroon and White to one of their most important victories of the campaign. With the Aggies outlasting the Tigers on the road to end the regular season with a 21-10 (11-7 in SEC play) record, they are now ranked sixth in the league rankings, which means Texas A&M has earned the No. 6 seed in the SEC Tournament. The league tournament is slated to begin on Wednesday, March 11.

While there are plenty of positives to take away from an incredible year, the Aggies still have basketball to play. When Bucky McMillan was named the head coach in the spring of 2025, his goal was to recreate the narrative and establish a program with a reputation for high-paced, winning basketball. After being picked to finish 13th in the SEC during the preseason, McMillan has well-exceeded all expectations and is now leading his team into March Madness with one of the most high-scoring units in college hoops.
