SUGAR LAND, Texas – UT Arlington women’s golf is set to compete in its fourth tournament of the spring and its second in as many weeks. UTA joins a 16-team field for the Riverbend Intercollegiate, hosted by Houston Christian.
The Mavericks are coming off a sixth-place finish in another 16-team tournament at the West Texas Classic. UTA finished with scores of 298-292-312 in each round, good for a 62-over-par 902.
Following last week’s tournament, the Mavericks made one change to the lineup. Nitisha Manikandesh returns to the lineup as Carmen Gonzalez Lo-A-Njoe subs out.

INSIDE THE LINEUP
Kamri Gabel
Gabel’s T19th finish was the best among the Mavericks at the West Texas Classic. The senior turned in a 74-72-76– 222 for the tournament. Gabel birdied five holes in the first round, the most in any round for a Maverick.
After not being in the lineup for the West Texas Classic, Manikandesh is back in the field. The senior was last in action at the Texas Golf Throwdown where a 12-over 228 and 23rd place finish made her the top UTA player in the field.
Bhoga was the Mavericks top finisher after two rounds of the West Texas Classic. The Frisco-native’s 1-over 71 opening round was the lowest from any UTA player in the tournament. Bhoga finished tied for 26th with a 14-over 224.
Finishing in the 40s on the leaderboard for the second-straight tournament was Gulhane. The junior opened the West Texas Classic with back-to-back rounds of 74 and finished with a 229 that placed her in a tie for 44th.
Browning placed 51st in the West Texas Classic with a 22-over 232 overall. The redshirt senior’s round was highlighted by a 76 in the final round, tying Gabel for the lowest third round from a Maverick.
