West 20th Street, Houston, Texas (OnScene, KPRC)
HOUSTON – The man accused of fatally shooting a woman in the Heights over the weekend now faces multiple felony charges, including capital murder.
Houston Police say Darius Dewayne Hall, 18, allegedly shot and killed a woman during a robbery in the Heights on West 20th Street before leading police on a chase near the Southwest Freeway in a stolen vehicle.
The chase ended at an apartment complex where the suspect barricaded himself inside the property. He was taken into custody after an hours-long standoff.
According to Harris County court records, Hall faces three felony charges: capital murder, evading arrest with a vehicle and tampering with physical evidence.
Court records identified the victim as Marietta Allison.
Hall is due in court for a preliminary appearance on Monday at 9 a.m.
