A late goal from Heather Stainbrook lifted Dallas Trinity FC to a 1-0 road win over Lexington FC on Sunday.

Stainbrook scored the game-winning goal in stoppage time on a off an assist from Cyera Hintzen. It was her second goal of the season.

“I just knew that it was an opportunity to crash the box,” Stainbrook said. “It was such a good ball by Cyera.”

Goalkeeper Tyler McCamey recorded her first shutout of the season in four matches. Dallas is tied for second in the Gainbridge Super League with six shutouts this season.

With the win, Trinity FC (8-6-3, 27 points) maintained its hold on third place in the Gainbridge Super League standings. Dallas pulled within three points of second place Lexington SC (7-2-9, 30 points). The top four teams in the standings make the playoffs.

“Any time that you get a late game-winning goal is a great feeling, especially when you do it away from home,” Head Coach Nathan Thackeray said. “The three points are huge for us.”

Next up, Dallas Trinity FC will face DC Power FC at 6 p.m. Thursday at Audi Field.
