Flock cameras, home security footage, and a TracPhone all helped lead to the arrest of an Humble woman in connection with the shooting death of her husband in New Caney last year, court documents show.
Breyanai Moore, 31, has been charged with murder. She is being held at the Montgomery County Jail without bond.
Deputies arrived on scene in the 23000 block of Northcrest Trail, where they found Lonnie Moore, 33, dead from a gunshot wound in a car in the early morning hours of June 15, 2025.
During the initial investigation, detectives found Lonnie Moore with a plastic shopping bag on his right hand, a latex glove in his left hand and black glove sitting on his lap, according to the arrest affidavit. While it was first thought the shooting was a suicide, detectives found blood on the back of the driver’s seat and on the outside of the vehicle that could not have happened in a suicide.
Breyanai Moore was listed as an emergency contact for Lonnie Moore even though the couple had been separated for two years. When detectives contacted her, she said she had been at home all night, the court documents state.
Footage from Flock cameras and a neighbor’s security camera captured Lonnie Moore leaving his driveway around 4:12 a.m. in his SUV and traveling around the Pinewood subdivision. Flock footage also showed a woman standing at the intersection of Wild Forest Drive and Texas 242, across from Pinewood Subdivision, around 4:19 a.m., according to the court records.Â
The woman was later identified by investigators as Breyanai Moore.
A search of Lonnie Moore’s phone showed Breyanai Moore’s cell number in his text messages and call log. However, the records show an unknown number calling him around 4 a.m. Detectives ultimately determined the unknown number was from a TracPhone purchased at a Walmart store off Highway 6.
The phone was tracked to a friend of Breyanai Moore’s, court records state. The friend told law enforcement officials she purchased the phone for Moore. The friend also told detectives that Breyanai Moore told her she shot Lonnie Moore while she was riding in the backseat of his vehicle, court records allege.Â
Court records do not show an attorney of record for Breyanai Moore.
