HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — A man was rushed to the hospital for serious injuries on Monday after being hit by the train in Hermann Park, officials said.
According to the Houston Fire Department, the train, a family attraction at Hermann Park, was rounding the corner when it struck a man at about 2 p.m. The conductor saw the man on the tracks, but said it was too late to stop the train, according to officials.
Authorities said that crews used spreaders and cribbing to lift and stabilize the train in order to rescue the man.
According to HFD, the man suffered serious injuries to his lower body and was rushed to Memorial Hermann in the Texas Medical Center.
