Eloy Leal, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on March 9, 2026, in Lubbock, Texas, at the age of 67. Born on January 8, 1959, in Lubbock, Eloy devoted his life to his family and his career, leaving a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.
Eloy worked for US Foods for 33 years in transportation, retiring in 2021. Throughout his career, he was known for his strong work ethic, dedication, and reliability. His colleagues respected him greatly and valued the many contributions he made during his years of service.
Outside of work, Eloy enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. He loved fishing and barbequing for family and friends, often bringing everyone together to share good food, laughter, and lasting memories. One of his greatest joys was dancing with his wife, Connie Leal. The couple shared 47 wonderful years of marriage after being united on November 10, 1978. Their life together was filled with love, laughter, and a deep appreciation for time spent with family.
Eloy was also an avid sports fan who enjoyed watching all kinds of sports. He especially loved Texas Tech football and was a loyal fan of the Las Vegas Raiders. His enthusiasm and passion for the games were contagious, and he loved celebrating victories while always appreciating the lessons that came with defeat.
Eloy is survived by his devoted wife, Connie Leal; his son, Michael Leal; his daughter, Crystal Leal; his mother, Guadalupe Garcia; his brother, Romero Leal; his sister, Becky Garcia; three grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Each of them carries forward his legacy of love, laughter, and devotion to family.
He was preceded in death by his father, Alfredo Leal, who held a cherished place in Eloy’s heart.
A memorial service honoring Eloy’s life will be held on March 16, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at Combest Family Funeral Home in Lubbock, Texas. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance and celebrate the life of a man who meant so much to so many.
Eloy Leal will be deeply missed, but the love he shared and the memories he created will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
