FARWELL, Texas (KFDA) – Two students from neighboring communities of Farwell and Texico were killed in a crash early Sunday morning in Clovis.
According to the State Line Tribune, one student from Farwell and one from Texico died in the crash.
The other Farwell student is in stable condition at the hospital.
The crash happened around 1:42 a.m. in Clovis at the intersection of Grand Street and 7th Street.
The tragedy has shaken both communities along the Texas–New Mexico state line.
Farwell ISD shared on Facebook that school will be closed for all students tomorrow due to a tragedy.
In a statement, Texico Municipal Schools confirmed the loss of one of its students.
“The Texico School community is heartbroken by the loss of one of our students. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Miranda family and all who loved this student. Counselors will be available at school this week for students and staff as we support one another during this difficult time.”
A breakfast for middle and high school students from Farwell and Texico is planned Monday, March 9 at 8 a.m. CT / 7 a.m. MT at First Baptist Church of Farwell.
Counselors, pastors and representatives from the Fellowship of Christian Athletes will be there to support students.
