CEDAR PARK, Texas — A threatening message was found written in a restroom stall at Cedar Park High School, according to a letter sent to families on Thursday.
The message, which was directed toward a staff member, referenced “potential violence” and included a warning to not come to school on Friday. Cedar Park Police and Leander ISD police officers were immediately contacted to investigate the incident.
After investigating, law enforcement officials have not been able to determine that there is a credible threat at this time. The school will continue to investigate to try to identify the source of the vandalism and when it was written.

“The safety and security of our students will always be our top priority at Cedar Park HS,” Principal John Sloan wrote in the letter. “Please know that we take any threat to our campus seriously and would have reacted differently had law enforcement found the threat to be credible.”
As a precautionary measure, there will be an increased law enforcement presence on campus Friday.
Sloan acknowledged that concern about the incident may spread on social media and encouraged parents to contact the school office with any questions.
