LUBBOCK – One of the most dynamic players in the nation throughout the season, Texas Tech sophomore guard Christian Anderson has been honored by being named to the All-Big 12 First Team and Big 12 Most Improved Player. The 2026 Phillips 66 All-Big 12 men’s basketball awards were voted on by the league’s head coaches.

Anderson established a new Texas Tech single-season record with 233 assists in the regular season along with averaging 19.2 points per game and making 103 3-pointers. His 7.8 assists per game leads the Big 12 and is third nationally while he ranks fifth in the conference in scoring. A three-time Big 12 Player of the Week, Anderson has also been named to the Wooden Award Ballot and is on the Naismith National Player of the Year Late-Season Watchlist. Anderson has recorded eight double-doubles this season and has scored 20-plus points in 12 games. He scored a career-high with 34 points in the season opener against Lindenwood and went off for 31 points and a career-high 11 rebounds in a win over Cincinnati.

Anderson leads Tech with 28 double-figure scoring performances this season, including going for 23 points with six 3-pointers at BYU in the regular-season finale. His 103 made 3-pointers broke the previous Texas Tech single-season record and is currently only behind teammate Donovan Atwell who has made 121 this season. Anderson is the only player in Tech’s history to record 200-plus assists and make 100 3s in a season. Along with his program records, Anderson had 141 assists in Big 12 play which is the second most ever and only behind Trae Young (Oklahoma) who had 145 against conference opponents in the 2017-18 season. He goes into the postseason on a streak of 14 straight games with six or more assists and has eight double-figure assist performances this season.

Anderson made a career-high eight 3-pointers at Baylor, going 8-for-10 from beyond the arc and finishing with 26 points. One of the most consistent and durable players nationally, he led the Big 12 and is second in the country by playing 38:37 minutes per game – including playing all 40 minutes in 12 games this season. He is currently 103-for-241 (42.7%) from beyond the arc for the season and is 192-for-399 (48.1%) from the field overall.

An Atlanta, Georgia native, Anderson earned All-Big 12 Freshman Team last season when he averaged 10.6 points, made 71 3-pointers and had 77 assists as a freshman. Those numbers were more than doubled this season during his sophomore season. Through 65 career games, Anderson has 948 points, 310 assists and is 174-for-428 (40.7%) on 3-pointers.
